4/2/25 - Art of Cooking Benefit Gala!

The Grand Street Settlement partnered with our school to give our students the opportunity to participate in a culinary gala, wherein they prepared and served food, enjoyed a fabulous three-course dinner, and networked with industry professionals. Two of the students in particular, Mamadou Diallo, and Tia Hunter, were invited to speak on stage to share their experiences working with the guest chef.

3/4/25 - National Honors Society Induction!

The National Honors Society is an organization that recognizes high school students with stellar academics and leadership qualities. At LESP, being a member of NHS means you have a GPA above 90, you have glowing recommendations from your teachers, your personal statement indicated personal growth and drive, and you passed multiple rounds of interviews. The National Honors Society meets during 3rd period advisory.

The members, new and old, were celebrated at the induction ceremony during advisory period on Tuesday, March 4th. They were first inducted and acknowledged in a ceremoney before their peers, where they spoke about what it means to be a member, and they received sashes and certificates. Then there was a ceremony with cake and drinks, held for just the NHS members and their supportive friends and family in attendance.

11/22/24 - Professional Development Day

It is important for the staff of LESP to be open-minded, communicative, and observant. All of these skills came in handy during our team-building archery exercise. Learning a new and complicated sport on the spot provided an enjoyable balance of group bonding and individual competition. While the students enjoyed the day off, the staff met for a light breakfast, participated in the archery event, then held a meeting to develop plans for the advisory period of the school day.
